State Treasurer: Now Some $1.6 Billion Sitting in Unclaimed Property

SPRINGFIELD – Sept. 5, 2012 – “The Illinois State Treasurer’s Office has added another $100 million to its unclaimed property database, meaning the office now holds $1.6 billion for owners who have not yet claimed their cash.

“While our numbers since the switch to I-Cash from Cash Dash are up dramatically, I want more people to go online and find out if they or their family members have unclaimed property. Go to icash.illinois.gov and enter your name in the search field. If it’s a match, fill out the online claim form and send it in. Then, receive your property and enjoy what you’ve discovered.”
