US Rep Biggert Endorses Sen Kirk Dillard for Re-Election

United States Congresswoman Judy Biggert (IL-13th) strongly endorsed Senator Kirk Dillard (R-Hinsdale) in Dillard’s race for re-election to the 24th Senatorial District. Biggert, the Chairman of the Insurance, Housing and Community Opportunity Subcommittee of the U.S. House Committee on Financial Services, represents many of the towns in the redistricted 24th Illinois Senatorial District.



Biggert’s work on the Financial Services Committee provides her with unique insight into the problems faced by Illinois government. Highlighting Dillard’s leadership in budget matters, Biggert noted, “I can say from first-hand experience that Kirk’s style of government is ‘if you can't afford it, you can't spend it.’ I like that.” While working as former Gov. Jim Edgar’s Chief of Staff, Dillard helped turn a deficit of $1.5B into a $1B surplus, all without an income tax increase.



“We must reform our pension system, repeal the 67% income tax hike, and control the excessive spending, borrowing and taxing policies of the current administration if we are to have any hope of spurring private-sector economic growth and job creation in Illinois,” said Dillard. Dillard is the author of the Illinois Senate plan, “30 Tips…” that lays out the Republican plan for economic growth in Illinois.



“We must return Kirk to Springfield to continue to work on the important and difficult issues facing Illinois. It is critical for our community to have an experienced and respected Senator in Springfield developing clear policy objectives,” Biggert concluded.



Dillard said that he was honored to receive the strong endorsement of his Congressional colleague. “Congresswoman Biggert is someone who clearly “gets it” on the economy. She is the Midwest leader on the advancement of science and technology for industry,” Dillard said. “I look forward to working with her as we both strive to make Illinois a “Destination Economy” for job creators.”

Municipalities included in the newly redistricted 24th Senate District are Clarendon Hills, Darien, Downers Grove, Elmhurst, Glen Ellyn, Hinsdale, Lisle, Lombard, Oak Brook, Oakbook Terrace, Western Springs, Westmont, Wheaton and Willowbrook.

Jim Ryan Endorses Kirk Dillard in his ReElection Bid to IL Senate

In a letter to residents of the Illinois 24th Senatorial District, former Illinois Attorney General Jim Ryan and several noteworthy leaders endorsed Illinois State Senator Kirk Dillard (R-Westmont) in his bid for reelection. Considered one of the most successful prosecutors in the state, Ryan has earned the respect and admiration of many throughout Illinois.

Ryan called Dillard, “One of the finest and most honorable people I have known.” He cited Dillard’s work when Ryan was Attorney General, specifically Dillard’s sponsorship of Ryan’s “Safe to Learn” Act which helps ensure children’s school safety. “Few people in politics earn the respect that Senator Dillard has over his distinguished career.” The readers of West Suburban Living voted Dillard to be the local politician with the most integrity. Ryan went on to say, “We need a Senator that has the broad experience, proper demeanor, and integrity to represent the entire district. Senator Dillard is clearly that person.”

Ryan describes how Dillard has helped the residents throughout the 24th Senate District. Ryan outlined how Dillard, working with local officials, obtained the funds to improve North Avenue, St. Charles Road and Butterfield Road/22nd Street, assisted with the purchase of Elmhurst Stone Quarry for Elmhurst flood abatement, and helped obtain the renovation monies for York Community High School. Ryan called Dillard a “workhorse” on complex issues in Illinois.

In addition to Ryan, others endorsing Dillard in the letter include former Illinois House Speaker Lee Daniels, John, Sr. and Reva Lizzadro, former Elmhurst Police Chief and current Illinois State Senator John Millner, and the late Congressman Henry Hyde’s son, Anthony.

After receiving the news of his endorsement, Dillard said, “I am humbled to receive the endorsements. It is an honor that these community leaders are supporting me in my reelection efforts. I am completely committed to continuing serving this area.”


Dillard currently represents the 24th Illinois Senate District. Municipalities included in the newly redistricted 24th Senate District are Burr Ridge, Clarendon Hills, Darien, Downers Grove, Elmhurst, Glen Ellyn, Lisle, Lombard, Hinsdale, Oak Brook, Oakbook Terrace, Westmont, Wheaton and Willowbrook. Dillard is a longtime resident of Hinsdale, where he lives with his wife Stephanie and their two young daughters.
