State Treasurer: Now Some $1.6 Billion Sitting in Unclaimed Property

SPRINGFIELD – Sept. 5, 2012 – “The Illinois State Treasurer’s Office has added another $100 million to its unclaimed property database, meaning the office now holds $1.6 billion for owners who have not yet claimed their cash.

“While our numbers since the switch to I-Cash from Cash Dash are up dramatically, I want more people to go online and find out if they or their family members have unclaimed property. Go to and enter your name in the search field. If it’s a match, fill out the online claim form and send it in. Then, receive your property and enjoy what you’ve discovered.”
